VicHealth Active club Campaign

Our latest project with VicHealth is taking us around Victoria to tell the stories of the clever grant recipients that are keeping their communities active.

"VicHealth’s Active Club Grants provide funding to increase the opportunities Victorians have to participate in community sport clubs." - VicHealth

We travelled to South Gippsland to film with Swell Mamas, a mother’s group bringing together the unexpected world’s of surfing and childcare to the beaches of Inverloch. We then journeyed out west to the You Yangs in regional Victoria to film with Escaping Your Comfort Zone, a body-positive hiking club for women.

We are looking forward to our upcoming shoots, capturing the incredible locations and communities assisted by VicHealth’s Active Club Grants. We'd like to thank everyone who has been involved so far.

Conservatorium Greats - Ben Northey

Our second instalment for the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, University of Melbourne (formerly VCA & MCM) features Associate Conductor of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Benjamin Northey. Focusing on stories from established alumni in the fields of visual art, music, film and television, we interviewed Ben at Hamer Hall in Melbourne before joining him at his rehearsal and performance of Beethoven's 5th symphony with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Since studying conducting at the University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music from 2000-2002, Ben has appeared in an array of prestigious national and international performances. Receiving the 2010 Melbourne Prize Outstanding Musician’s Award, Ben is highly regarded for his "progressive and diverse approach to repertoire”. We’d like to thank him immensely for being involved in this production.

We’d also like to thank Hamer Hall in Melbourne, ABC Studios at Ultimo in Sydney, Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre in Nowra and of course the Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Wine for Good - The Homeless Grapes Project

We are very pleased to present our video campaign for the 'Homeless Grapes’ project. Wine retailer Vinomofo has already raised over $100,000 for homelessness through the initiative. In conjunction with 12 wineries across three regions, the project looks forward to accumulating a further $200,000 for the cause next year through the sale of their specialty wines.

“We can see a near future where this is a global project - wine communities around the world donating their grapes, their time and their love to make beautiful wines in support of their local homeless.” - Vinomofo
VCA GREATS - Patricia Piccinini

Our latest recruitment campaign for the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, University of Melbourne (formerly VCA & MCM), features stories from their established alumni in the fields of visual art, music, film and television. Our first video profiles the inimitable Patricia Piccinini, who first graduated from the VCA in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts (Painting) and is now a faculty member.

We met Patricia at her studio in Melbourne before travelling to Brisbane to see her latest exhibition ‘Curious Affection’ at The Gallery of Modern Art (GOMA). In what the gallery has called her “most ambitious exhibition to date”, Patricia has become the first Australian artist to occupy the entire ground floor of GOMA.

We would like to sincerely thank GOMA and Patricia Piccinini and look forward to sharing her story with you.

Wine for Good film project with Vinomofo

We're in the edit on our latest project with wine retailer Vinomofo. This video will tell the story of their Homeless Grapes initiative, which started in South Australia's McLaren Vale in 2015. Now in it's fourth year, Vinomofo, along with three local winemaking communities - including growers, pickers, winemakers, label designers and bottling companies - have come together to make a wine that Vinomofo goes on to sell. All the proceeds are donated to three charities that support people experiencing homelessness. It's a fabulous project with a great story that we've been thrilled to capture over the last few weeks at De Bortoli Wines in Victoria's Yarra Valley along with Inkwell Wines, Penny's Hill Wines and Chalk Hill Wines in South Australia's McLaren Vale. We're looking forward to the release of the film in a few weeks.

New trailer for our film 'Milly'

We're thrilled to share the trailer for our film 'Milly', a narrative project we produced this year with ARDS Aboriginal Corporation. The film is to be used as a health education tool for young Indigenous women. The project saw us shooting on location in Nhulunbuy, Biritjimi and Yirrkala in North East Arnhem Land with a wonderful local Yolngu cast. A comprehensive study guide was produced to accompany the film and we're pleased to hear that 'Milly' is being so well received by the young women and also by the health educators.

Thank you again to our clients at ARDS: Executive Producers Joy Bulkanhawuy and Emma Murphy; our fabulous lead cast of Zowie, Rachel, Roberta and Caitlin; and our fantastic crew: Cinematographer Sky Davies, Co-Producer Noni Eather, Sound Editor Tfer Newsome, Colourist Martin Greer and Animator Steph Comfort.

'Milly' was produced, written, directed and edited by Yarn.

For this campaign we worked with three young people - Lucy, Campbell and Vanitta - who very graciously shared their personal experiences of preparing for work and gaining employment. We produced one video story on each participant as well as a campaign trailer.

A big thank you to the team at The Bridge, particularly CEO Phillip Toovey, GM Ausra Wells and staff members Cindy Warren, Martina Netto and Fili Polataivao.

Coastal Climate Adaptation Project - Bellarine Peninsula

Filming is underway on our latest project with the City of Greater Geelong. We are documenting the construction of a very innovative project - an Artificial Reef off the coast of Portarlington, Victoria. Designed to mitigate tidal events, the approximately 100 metre long Artificial Reef will be constructed from steel cages filled with organic matter: scallop shells recycled from local restaurants. Work has commenced on the steel cages and several tonnes of scallop shells are being turned intermittently in a sunny paddock in St Leonards, waiting to be packed into the cages. It's anticipated that the reef will be 'greened' in order to offer a complementary benefit to the local ecosystem and encourage sea life to infiltrate the structures.

The deployment of the reef will take about two days and will occur later in 2017. We are looking forward to capturing underwater images and aerials of this very exciting event.
