Artificial Reef Project with National Centre for coasts and climate AND City of Greater Geelong

Yarn is thrilled to be working with the National Centre for Coasts and Climate and the City of Greater Geelong to capture the incredible design, construction and installation of an artificial reef off the coast of Portarlington, Victoria. The innovative project aims to increase biodiversity, improve water quality and prevent erosion and flooding of the coastline by constructing an offshore breakwater of steel cages filled with local rock and recycled mussel shells.

We’re currently producing a series of films that follows the journey of this incredible project and the people involved, from the conception through to the construction of the reef. It’s exciting and true to the values of Yarn to produce content that promotes people and projects working to preserve our local environment. The story of a local council working together to combat the large issue of coastal climate change is one we’re eager to continue filming and look forward to showing the series later this year.
